TODAY IS A HISTORICAL DAY AS IT IS THE RE-INAUGURATION OF THE NATION'S FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT AND ALSO THE DAY THAT WE COMMEMORATE THE LIFE OF DR MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR WHO WAS A CATALYST FOR THE CHANGE THAT WE NOW SEE. DR KING WAS A SEED THAT WAS PLACED ON THIS EARTH BY GOD ALMIGHTY TO FULFILL A PURPOSE. AS DR KING GREW INTO THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWER HE WAS, HE FACED ADVERSITY IN ALL FORMS. JUST AS WEEDS ATTACH TO A FARMER'S CROP WHILE IT IS GROWING, INJUSTICE, RACISM, VIOLENCE, HATRED AND A MYRIAD OF OTHER NEGATIVE INFLUENCES ATTEMPTED TO DESTROY WHAT DR KING WAS ORDAINED TO DO. DR KING'S LIFE SHOULD BE AN EXAMPLE TO ALL OF HUMANKIND TO EMULATE. I SEE HIM AS ONE OF GOD'S OWN. SO TO EMULATE HIM WOULD BE CHRIST-LIKE. ALONG YOUR JOURNEY THERE WILL BE WEEDS THAT TRY TO HOLD YOU DOWN. KEEP GROWING!!!! IN THE END GOD WILL HAVE THE FINAL SAY-SO!! BE ENCOURAGED, STAY PRAYED UP, KEEP YOUR FAITH!!! So What's Your Excuse? Or is it an excuse?
EXCUSES ARE THE TOOLS OF INCOMPETENCE...
Where many of us use excuses, we fail to realize that satan plants certain seeds in our minds if we allow him to. I call these seeds the 5Ds. The first seed is doubt. Doubt is what satan uses to make us question God's Word and his faithfulness to us. How many times have you doubted whether you can complete a project on time, or make it through the work day? I am sure there have been many. When you wake up in the morning you should pray these feelings away and get on with your day. I know it is easier said than done but if you go ahead and do it, the rest will follow.
The second one is discouragement. Discouragement tends to take our focus away from God and place it directly on whatever problem we are facing at the moment. It is in times like these that we should allow God to work in our lives and be encouraged in knowing that he will see us through.
The next one is diversion. Diversion is something that keeps us from doing what is right when we already know that what we are doing is wrong. Satan makes things, the wrong things, look so good to us that we push what is right way back in the back of our minds. This also takes focus away from God.
Defeat. How many times have you let a situation, an outcome, a person's thoughts of you, defeat you. Far too many times. Defeat makes you feel like a failure and causes us to stall whatever it is we sought out to do. Push on, be encouraged and don't let satan make you feel like you are defeated. You are too blessed to be stressed.
Finally we have delay. This is better known as procrastination. How many times have you heard the saying, "Why put off what you can do today, for tomorrow?" This is true. However this is hardly ever a motivator for some people. But do realize that the more you put it off, the longer it takes for it to get done. And it will possibly never get done. So think about that the next time you have that project due. Just think if that project was worth a pay raise. Would you hesitate then? I think not. Now I am going to put another spin on it. Why do we procrastinate when seeking God? You don't want it to be Judgement Day when you start to go after HIS heart do you? That would be too late. Just something to think about.
You all have a GREAT SUNDAY and don't delay getting up this morning going to church. That is nothing but the devil.

Slow To Anger
GOOD MORNING WORLD AND THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR GRACE AND MERCY! ALLOWING ME TO SEE ANOTHER DAY IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO ALLOW IT. HOW OFTEN DO YOU FIND YOURSELF WAKING UP FROM WHAT IS A GOOD NIGHT'S REST, ANGRY? DO YOU EVER STOP TO THINK OF WHY YOU ARE SO ANGRY SO EARLY IN THE MORNING? I USED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM BUT IT WASN'T UNTIL I DID SOME SHIFTING AND SHAKING THAT I REALIZED THAT HEY, I AM ALIVE AND I GET A CHANCE TO DO SOME THINGS DIFFERENTLY TODAY. IF THAT PERSON, PLACE,OR THING IS THE VERY THING THAT CAUSES YOU TO BE ANGRY THEN MAYBE IT'S TIME TO LET THEM GO!!! FORGIVE THEM AND MOVE ON!! I DONT CARE IF YOU HAVE KNOW THEM FOR 25 YEARS IF THE FRIENDSHIP IS MORE MALNUTRITIOUS THAN NOURISHING THEN I SAY CUT THEM OFF. YOU SHOULD BE TIRED OF WAKING UP MAD WITH THE WORLD AS IF THE WORLD OWES YOU SOMETHING. WHEN EVERYBODY ELSE FAILS YOU THERE IS ONE CONSTANT WHO WILL NEVER LEAVE: JESUS. PUT YOUR HAND IN HIS HAND AND LEAVE THE REST IN THE DUST. HE WILL CARRY YOU THROUGH. MARY, JOE, BOB, AND HARRY DID NOT WAKE YOU UP THIS MORNING. GIVE PRAISES TO THE ONE WHO DID. No Weapons

THESE PRESSURES MAY BE IN THE FORM OF THAT JOB YOU ARE NOT PLEASED WITH, YOUR FINANCES, YOUR RELATIONSHIPS, YOUR VIEWS OF YOURSELF. THESE ARE WHAT I CALL WEAPONS. WEAPONS DO NOT NECESSARILY HAVE TO BE PHYSICAL IN ORDER TO ATTACK US. YES, JESUS ENDURED MANY WEAPONS DURING HIS TIME ON EARTH. FROM VERBAL ATTACKS TO PHYSICAL ATTACKS. THE CROSS THAT HE HAD TO CARRY ON HIS BACK, THE LASHES HE TOOK WITH THE WHIP, THE NAILS THAT PIERCED HIS FLESH, THE CROWN OF THORNS HE WORE ON HIS HEAD, THOSE THREE DAYS HE HUNG ON THE CROSS...
